  • Environmental Policy
  • Food Systems

Naajia dreams of a world where discrimination of any kind is abolished with everyone and everything living happily and freely. To make this dream a reality, she focuses on the troubles in her community first and wants to fight against food insecurity, while bringing awareness to food sovereignty and hope to increase urban agriculture and green infrastructure within cities. In this way, she believes that she can teach others about the importance of the connection between cultural roots and nature conservation. She feels that it is her duty to help save the earth and aid others while also fighting for environmental justice to fulfill her life’s purpose.

Support the Conservation Scholars Program

The Conservation Scholars Fund directly supports students who are pursuing a career in conservation through the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program at the University of Washington. Effective conservation strategies are inclusive, involving a diversity of stakeholders and incorporating multiple values. Yet, the conservation community does not reflect the collective voice of our country. Without a significant, serious and immediate increase in diversity and inclusion, the conservation community will become a movement of the past instead of a guiding principle of the future. Our program aims to change that.
